As the founder and director of Toolbox Design, Sanem Surel has over 10 years of experience overseeing design, development, and construction administration for a diverse range of projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her goal is to shape fundamental elements into a meaningful vision that seamlessly integrates with the landscapes she creates. Through a process of discovery, design, and dialogue, she incorporates clients’ unique needs and desires into constructions that enhance their lifestyles.

Sanem serves as president of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC).

She holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California, and a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Design and Landscape Architecture from Bilkent University in Turkey. With her comprehensive education in architecture, landscape architecture, and planning, she provides expert solutions throughout all project phases.
